  • Come on, black and white? Pen and ink sketches? Does it get any better than this? If you doubt my feelings about these two artistic choices, maybe you haven't surfed this site before. (c; (Is anyone shocked when I reveal that my favorite video of all time is A-ha's "Take on Me?")
  • The "hands on the piano" images here, and on the liner notes to TTA, remind me of similar snapshots from inside a Stevie Wonder album collection. As if Hanson needed to do anything more to invoke these types of musical geniuses. (c;
  • This was the "performance video" the content of This Time Around deserved. Who doesn't respect David Meyer's work? ;-D . . . And yet, it's just that wacky individuals on Razors, somehow short-change the All Quiet on the Western Front roots of TTA.
  • Where's Zac? Fleeting glances of this musician . . . At the same time, the serious content of Save Me may be invaded somewhat by Zac's expressions of natural levity. Not that he isn't capable of truly feeling the song, but if this piece doesn't have "Taylor" scrawled all over it, then this musician is left-handed.
  • While watching this video, I felt a sudden spark of recognition. But where and when? Before attending Hanson's performance at The Fox Theatre back in June, I visited the Detroit Institute of Arts and caught a couple of Andy Warhol's movie shorts. The enigmatic transitions, the crystal clear sound quality over flickering film and an echo-y stark feeling all translated into something you felt inexplicably drawn to view again and again. The film felt like a cryptic message, scattered somewhere inside those brief, but swiftly moving frames--a significant revelation about you. The message was left just for you . . . and only you had the ability to decipher it.  All of these ingredients are present in Save Me.
