| Dear Jackie,
It's times
like these when you wonder if anyone else is quite
so overflowing with useless bits of Hansoknowledge.

Last weekend, daughter
Caitlin went into The City to see Billy Bragg in concert. "What
connection could this POSSIBLY have to Hanson?" you may
well ask. Here's the chain of events that led me to the connection:
- "Billy Bragg
- I've heard of him, somewhere . . ." (I had seen him
mentioned in a newspaper listing for Weekend Events.)
- Check CDNOW.com
for bio of Billy Bragg. Seems he's an "old British fogey"
who has recently played in a band that includes Ian McLagan,
formerly keyboard player of Small Faces, which became Faces,
which is usually known as the band whence Rod Stewart came.
This little bit of info was relatively interesting to us other
old fogies in the family.
- Seems that Billy
Bragg has also toured with, and released a few albums with,
a band called Wilco. (Who also, as it happened, were playing
in NYC last weekend, separately.)
- "Wilco -
I've heard
of them, somewhere . . . " (and that day, I said to Caitlin,
jokingly "well, knowing me, it's probably a Hanson connection.")
- Back to CDNOW.com
to check out the discography of Wilco . . . tada! an album
called Summer Teeth, which I'm pretty darn sure Zac named
(December 11, 2001, link to page mid-interview) as "his
favorite album at the moment". . . or album to take on
a desert island, or some such thing, in SOME published account,
months ago.
Aren't you proud
of me? I should get a job with the FBI . . .
