Poetry || beyond the shadow of grace
Beyond the shadow of grace lies my spirit within these walls made of secrets and lies and stories untold by people who never wanted to live in the first place.
Beyond the shadow of grace lies my life unfolded, unlived, and rotting in a corner full of cobwebs and dreams dissolved.
Beyond the shadow of grace lies my body trapped in a pink shirt wanting to be everything it's not while pretending looks aren't everything.
Beyond the shadow of grace lies my dream of becoming everything I never knew I always wanted to be even though the road less traveled happens to escape my range of vision.
Beyond the shadow of grace you lie, looking at me but not speaking, hurting me without knowing, loving me without reason.
Beyond the shadow of grace lie my hands, wanting to touch you but writing instead stories of graces and dreams, of bodies and spirits, of life and about you without ever putting the right words on the blank piece of paper.
