Way To Stir The Pot, Boys
katiebae's thoughts on h.net
chat on July 18, 2001
They do it to me every time. Just when I think, "I'm going to be a good girl. Just chill out and wait. Keep myself occupied until the new album comes out." And then they go and give me more information to stir in my brain until I'm all excited again. ::sigh:: Why do I speculate about them so much?
[Please note: What you will find below is not the complete transcript. I only quoted the questions and responses that I thought were worthy of commentary. If you would like the complete transcript, go visit hanson.net or you can probably find it on the major message boards or alt.fan.hanson.]

itzmoey asks "Hey guys! I was just wondering if
you were thinking about doing a double album? I think that would be totally
awesome!! Thanks! Holly, Dallas, TX".
Hanson answers: At this point we've written so many songs we're actually considering
that. Think about it. A *double* album and
a documentary? I might just explode from excitement. If TTA can last me for
more than a year, imagine what *two* cds will do? However,
I do think it's a highly unlikely occurance, just for the important fact that
they only have one album remaining to complete their contract. I don't really
know what the logistics would be of adding another album. However, it isn't
impossible for them to get a mini-contract to facilitate that.

musicalbabe asks "Hey\~! You guys have opened up
a lot of new bands to me such as Lifehouse and Travis(whom I really enjoy the
music of) and was wondering if there are any other bands that you guys enjoy
and could share with us? Thanks! \~\*Sarah Shoop of Bend Oregon\*\~".
Hanson answers: Well all those bands are really cool and it's always cool to
pay tribute to the band that we like. We're actually going to be doing some
guest chats very soon. David Garza next Wednesday and then Phantom Planet after
that ... It's been said before...sometimes Hanson
is better at promoting other bands than their own. Not that I'm really complaining.
I admit that I've checked out bands on the mere power of a Hanson's suggestion.
But isn't it interesting that David Garza is also a client of Sabec's Triune
Music Group? Hmm...doesn't hurt to do cross-promotion.

madelinehitz asks "Zac
said on the hotline that there could be plans for a tour before the release
of the album? Is that still a possibility?".
Hanson answers: There has been a lot of talk for touring before the record releases
because we are itching to get out on the road and play music. We also think
it's a very good way to promote the release of the record, but we're still finishing
recording the material now. We can't deny
that Hanson in a live setting comes very close to euphoria for many of us. I
completely agree that doing a tour, pre-release would be great publicity. Hey,
*N Sync did it, why shouldn't Hanson? Or maybe that's just my selfishness talking.

nettik asks "What was the latest movie
you saw?".
Hanson answers: I saw Moulin Rouge the second time and it was equally as good
as the first. It's groundbreaking and it's shot really really beautifullyAh,
Moulin Rouge. Arguably, the best movie of the summer. Good to know that the
boys have taste.

wakkogurl asks "If you had all the money in the world, what would you do
with it? (I need a new wardrobe by the way...)".
Hanson answers: We'd either buy Clearchannel or a new wardrobe Our
boys are getting rather controversial, aren't they? As you may or may not know,
Clear Channel is the very large, very monopolizing owner of 247 of the nation's
250 largest radio markets. hehe. Can you imagine if Hanson owned them and overtook
the airwaves? We'd have the first all-access, 24-hour broadcast of Zac on his
megaphone. ;) At least they're not afraid to speak up...as subdtle as it may
be.

vicky asks "what colour is your toothbrush?".
Hanson answers: Yellow and Brown (Zac) Blue(Taylor) Maroon (Isaac)
Thanks for that intelligent question! Can
you just hear the sarcasm *dripping* from that last comment?

naughtybee asks "just interested to know
if "wake up" was orginally recored for This Time Around or is it a
newly recorded song?".
Hanson answers: We actually wrote Wake Up on the TGA tour. It's been on the
top of lists for songs on this next record. We're psyched that
you'll get a chance to hear it before the record comes out so you get to hear
hints of what the record will sound like. Listening
to the lyrics of "Wake Up," you can hear a strange sense of irony
and cynicism, particularly with the line: "Dont you ever wonder who you're
looking for, Cause you don't have me.. " It's very significant that they
wrote this song on tour. Thousands of screaming fans, all yearning to have some
brief contact with them and more importantly, all with a separate picture in
their heads about what Hanson really is. 'You don't have me' isn't literal,
it's figurative--their acknowlegement that we can never really truly know them.
Am I being too deep?

Minnie asks "Hi guys, I'm from Brasil, and i went to 2 concerts in Sao
Paulo... It was GREAT! I was wondering if in the next tour, am i going to see
Taylor Or Zac at the eletric guitar, performing and stuff? It'd rock! =o) Laura,
17".
Hanson answers: On the next tour, we're hoping to switch around even more. Maybe
you'll even see Ike playing drums! How cute
would that be to see Isaac playing drums? That thought reduces me to a ball
of giggling, hanson-induced giddiness.

vicky asks "would you strip for a million pound?".
Hanson answers: (Zac) I only strip for double my weight ....sorry. Mwah!
I have three words to say to that: Zac, you rock.
